IYOFOR BECOMES AMAECHI’S NEW MEDIA AIDE

Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi of oil and gas rich Rivers State in the South South Nigeria has approved the appointment of Mr. Davidi Iyofor as his chief press secretary.

Until his appointment, Iyofor, who hails from the Urhobo speaking area of Delta State, was the special assistant to the governor on Media as well as the head, media and publicity of the Amaechi Re-election Campaign Organization.

According to Ogwareports, the governor also approved the appointment of Mr. Henry Halliday as the new chief of protocol, Government House, Port Harcourt.

A government special announcement from the office of the secretary to the state government, disclosed that the appointment of Iyofor, who replaces the acting chief press secretary, Mr. Blessing Wikina took immediate effect.

Ogwareports recalled that the appointment of Iyofor, who is a close ally of Governor Amaechi, came barely two week after the appointment of Barrister Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike, former chief of staff to the governor and director-general of Amaechi Campaign Organization as the minister of state for Education by President Goodluck Jonathan.
