Nigerian Cleric Want More Christians in Politics

Nigerian Cleric Want More Christians in Politics

A Nigerian cleric, Fubara Ibama has called on Christians in the country to stop shying away from partisan politics as that is the only way to bring sanity into the system.

According to Ogwareports, Ibama, who is the presiding pastor of Living Gospel Missions International, said although people are made to believe that politics is a dirty came, Christians could change the general belief by embracing it.

He said “Every day, we keep complaining that our political leaders are not doing the right thing for the masses, yet we have refused to go into politics because we are made to believe that it is a dirty came.

“The only way to change politics in Nigerian from being a dirty came is for you to participate actively. You don’t have to be praying everyday for God to change the heart of our political leaders and you don’t need to stay outside to complain, you need to go in there and make the difference. Go in there to effect the changes that would be beneficial to the masses”.

The cleric, who preached on the theme; ‘Take Action’ reminded Christians, that the religion does not teach idleness and advised those who are unemployed to stop waiting for white collar jobs that may not come and take up small scale businesses that would help them in life.

“As a Christian, you need to live well, you don’t need to live a life of management, you don’t need to live a life of constant borrowing, because, God created us and gave us hands and legs to work.

“While you are waiting for the job opportunity from Shell, while you are waiting for that job from NLNG, Chevron and other big companies. While you are waiting for that big business, try your hands in small businesses to help yourself because Christianity does not teach laziness,” Ibama said.
